How to check if the Motor Mounts are bad?

When starting there is a thump coming from under the driver's seat or maybe just in general under the car. It also happens when I turn the engine off and when I reverse and don't give it enough gas. Thank you

All of the videos cover automatic, front wheel drive, vehicles as they are most common.
In your case you will need a 2nd person too to check for any excessive engine or transmission movement.

Apply the hand brake and use caution during all testing procedures.

With engine running, handbrake applied, select 1st gear .
Release the clutch partially and apply moderate accelerator.
Try not to stall the engine.
rock the engine in 1st gear and reverse gear in that way, 2nd person checking for any excessive movement of the engine and transmission mountings.

In total there are 4 mountings, 2 engine and 2 transmission. See image below.
2 on either side of the engine and 2 on the crossmember under the transmission.
