Drivers side door handle replacement

Need to know how to get door panel off to get to door handle.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Here are the directions for removal and replacement of a door trim panel. The attached two pictures correlate with the directions.


Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door handle trim plate (6).
2. Carefully remove the armrest cover plate (2).
3. Remove the 2 screws (3) from the armrest.
4. Remove the courtesy lamp assembly (5).
5. Remove the screw from behind the lamp assembly (4).
6. Remove the push pin fastener (1) from the defroster duct.
7. Remove trim panel Lift up on the trim panel in order to disengage the hooks on the backside of the panel (4).
8. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure

1. Connect the electrical connectors.
2. Install the trim panel by engaging the hooks on the backside of the panel.
3. Install the push pin fastener (1) in the defroster duct.
4. Install the screw behind the lamp assembly (4).

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 0.6 N.m (5 lb. in.).

5. Install the courtesy lamp assembly (4)
6. Install the 2 screws (3) in the armrest.

Tighten
Tighten the 2 fasteners to 0.6 N.m (5 lb. in.).

7. Install the armrest cover plate (2).
8. Install the door handle trim plate.
