How do you change a valve cover gasket on a 1997 e420 mercedes and what tools are used to change it? Thank you.
I have a E420 Mercedez Benz and I need to get the valve cover gasket fixed. I just need to know the steps to getting it fixed and what kind of tools are used to get it repaired and working. The car is making a clicking noise on the left side and I know that this is from the valve cover gasket so I need it to be fixed on the left side of the car. Please let me know how to do this with step and a list of tools. Thank you.

I'm assuming you're taking the valve cover off to adjust the valves to repair your ticking noise? I doubt replacing a gasket will fix any noise you may have unless you mean to imply it's leaking out a bunch of oil and the lack of oil is causing your valves to be noisy? Just a tip when replacing the gasket: make sure you start all of the bolts before you completely tighten any of them completely.
