Changing outer tire rod end and I need to know how many ft lbs to torque to have put both passenger and driver side outer tire rod end new. But every few days the tire rod ball stud nut keeps loosening up. Holds for 2 to 3 days after that starts loosening up allowing the tire rod end to lean over.

Hi,

The jamb nut is 55 ft/lbs and the tie rod ball stud nut is 33 ft/lbs. If you look below, I attached two pics showing the torque specifications and identification of each of the nuts being tightened.

If you still have trouble, make sure the nut you are using is the correct size. If it is, purchase Loctite and place it on the threads prior to installing the nut. That should help.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
