This vehicle does not have a dipstick like most other vehicles today. To check the fluid, the engine must be warm, running, and you then remove the fill plug on the side of the transmission. The fluid should be at the bottom of the threaded part of the fill plug. If you feel it is not, try adding fluid and continue until it starts running back out. Yes, that sounds crazy, but that is how it is now done.
