Axle portion in transmission broke/went bad, but the seal is totally intact. How is that possible?

If electrical malfunctioned and somehow the TMC gave off bad gear ratios to solenoid/transmission while car running and driving, could that lock up the transmission and make it not engage any gears including park? (Like a " loss of power "- mode?)

Hi,

I'm a bit confused. You indicate the rear axle, but you also indicate the transmission which is not directly attached to the rear axle. Can you please explain? Are you referring to the drive shaft? What has actually broken? Also, if possible, please upload a pic of the broken component so I can see exactly what is going on.

Take care,
Joe
