When I stop quickly, my car idles funny and seems like it's going to stall, but catches itself after a few seconds and gets back to normal. It doesn't happen all the time or on slow braking, only on when I have to stop very quickly. It seems to happen more often after the car has been sitting for a bit/overnight rather than while driving about for a while, but that's not absolute. How can I tell if my car has an EGR valve?

This car does not have an EGR valve. it sounds like the throttle bore is dirty causing the issues. Service the unit without disconnecting the wiring or forcing the butter fly open. Also it is time of a tune up as well
