Check engine light stays on IMA light stays on but it still charge and assist and getting 46 mpg and now AC not cooling. When it is around eighty degrees outside when start blows cool for a few seconds and then switch to blowing warm air. Took it to auto part store test is reading dealer codes and said they have been there a while.

On an 2005 and especially a hybrid there is no way to read the codes without a good scan tool. The trick with hybrids is you have all the fault codes that a "common" gas engine has, plus all of the codes to deal with the electric drive as well. Testing without the codes is nearly impossible and even with them it can be very tricky because of the higher voltages (144 volts) and controls.

With both the CEL and IMA lights on you most likely have a failed battery pack for the hybrid section. Having the codes read could verify that. What does the charge/assist meter on the dash show when you accelerate or slow down?

As a couple items you can check use a test light to verify that fuse number 9 in the under hood fuse box is good. Do not remove it! If you do you will need the lock out code for the radio which should be in the owners manual if you have it, if not the dealer can get it but they will charge you.

Do not try to test anything related to the hybrid power, it will turn a 12 volt bulb into a flash bulb!
