I’m sure you’re familiar with this problem, the vehicle starts with no issues but after it’s warm and you shut it off and try to start it again it will slowly crank or not at all like the battery is drained.

I can literally wait a few seconds and try it again and it might turn over or not turn over. Wait a few seconds and turn the key and it will turn over and start.

Of course, I have none of these issues after the engine has cooled down. It fires right up just fine.

What would be your diagnosis protocols?

It sounds like the starter motor is going out, the engine is easier to crank over when cold, I would also check the battery cables and load test the battery.

here are guides and how to change the out the starter in the guides below:

I have seen the ignition timing be over advanced and cause this problem, can you upload a short video of the engine cranking hoy so I can see the problem? Also, you may have a defective starter motor? How do the battery cables look, and do you have a good ground from the battery to the engine block and the chassis? Here are the starter wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works, also I would try swapping out the starter relay. Check out the images below. Please let us know what happens.
