Hot on one side

Hi Frank,

I have some ideas already but I need some more information. Is this an manual HVAC system or an auto? Do you have dual temperature zones (can you set the passenger side to a different temperature then the driver side)?

Let me know this stuff and we can go from there. Thanks

Manual A/C. one temperature for all zones.

Changed heater core last winter, new thermostat this winter, new antifreeze also.

Okay. Couple more clarification questions. What do you have the settings on? Heat or AC when you are getting this. Also, is the vents on the far outside that are different or are the vents towards the center different as well?

Two on each side the both right are hot both left are cold temp on hot I had the truck since bran new one side hot the other is cold

If I can jump in here, it sounds like you have a drivers side blend door actuator that is out. Here is a guide that will walk you through the steps with the location and instructions how to change it for your truck below.

What you are describing is very common on dual temp zones and what Ken provided is correct. However, you said you have single zone so the principal of what Ken provided is correct. The only difference between a single zone system and a dual is the single has one actuator with a rod connecting to the second blend door and a dual has an actuator on both doors. However, the HVAC housing and everything inside is the same in both options.

If your driverside air temp is correct and the passenger side is wrong, I would suspect the rod shown in the picture either came off or the door is broken.
