Hose leak?

That is a drain hose from the heat and A/C case. If you are running the A/C on a humid day it will run close to a steady stream out of that line. It is also one of the spots where you will find coolant if the heater core is leaking. As you said it evaporated quickly it sounds like just water. Coolant usually takes a while to evaporate unless it's hot. That line is also a common spot that gets plugged with dirt, pine needles and crud and causes the floor to get wet because the system cannot drain out.

What type of fluid is coming out of it? I imagine it is water or a clear liquid. If it is then it is a drain hose either from the sunroof (if equipped), A/C evaporator, or some other component. However, if this is in the general area of the firewall or dashboard then it is the evaporator drain.

Thanks for the responses! The hose is near the firewall but I also have a sunroof. The liquid evaporated quickly and had no scent, I’m sure it’s just water. We’re in that season in Texas where the temperature fluctuates wildly throughout the day. It’s probably condensation from the A/C. I’ll keep an eye on it.

The one you show is the A/C case drain. The sunroof drains are farther forward near the area where the front fenders attach. They can get plugged as well but to clean them can be a bear, the easiest way I have found is to use string trimmer line and feed it down from the top of the drains and out the bottom. The X shaped stuff seems to work pretty good. Just be sure to clean all of the drains, there are two in the front and two to the rear, I generally like to park them on a level spot and pour water slowly at each corner of the sunroof, then watch the wheel well areas for the water to come out of the drains. The A/C drain can be cleared from underneath using the same line. With the roof drains do not force the line through or use high pressure air to clean them. The hoses are just pushed onto the drains on the sunroof end and there are a couple of areas they can be pushed apart and give you leaks inside the car.
