Hood lever won’t open hood. Checked and cable is connected to the lever (handle), but there is no tension on the cable. Tried pushing down on the hood and having someone pull the lever, but no luck. I was even able to get a screwdriver under the hood to trigger the latch, but it does not release the hood. Seems like there must be a secondary latch I can’t see. I’m guessing the cable is not connected to the latch under the hood, but I can’t get to it to fix it. The other issue is that the car is dead now and I can’t jump it since the hood won’t open. Any ideas?

You have the right idea, I have had to break out the grill to get to the hood latch to open it, you have tried everything else. You may get a long standard screwdriver to help release the latch, there is a secondary latch, but the hood will come up a few inches first, if the hood does not come up the main latch is still engaged. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.
