Hood replacement

My son has the car listed above and the hood latch failed on him while he was driving which caused the hood to fly up, shatter the windshield and dent the hood considerably. We want to replace the hood ourselves and we are inquiring if the hood needs to come from the exact year or can it be from a different year? Not sure if the measurements are the same...

I only recommend the exact year make and model. The reason is because there are slight variations that can cause a problem with fitment.

Other than taking exact measurements from every point, I would stick with the same year.
