hood release cable broken, can't open hood?

how do I open hood with a broken hood release cable, this is a 2002 Honda civic LX 4 door

If the cable is broken from inside vehicle, there is a possibility you can try to grab the cable from under the bumpers and tug at it till it releases.
The other option is to get at the latch from under the front bumper, Not an easy manoeuvre.
