Welcome to 2CarPros. Broken cables are a pain on some vehicles. If the lever pulls real easy but no latch activity it's either broken or disconnected. On most vehicles that cable is protected very well to make it more difficult to steal anything under the hood. You can usually get them open if you can get a hook shaped tool behind the latch and move the part with the yellow arrow. Either remove the grille for access or get the front of the truck up a bit and try to get in from underneath. Before you do this be sure the problem isn't that it disconnected on the inside handle.
