Can anyone tell me if a hood hinge on a Chevrolet Lumina late 90's might fit the car listed above?

Hi,

I tried to find the OEM part numbers, but because of the model year, they are no longer listed in my manuals. So, I tried to find pics online for the two.

From what I am seeing, they are two very different hinges. By chance, could you take a pic of the ones on your vehicle? Based on what I see, the Buick hinge has an integral spring to hold the weight of the hood. On the Lumina, that isn't present.

Let me know.

Joe

I can't get a picture at this time. However, I can tell you there is no spring, the hood is held up with hood struts, or a good broom handle, if needs be. :-)

Hi,

I've used the broom handles in the past as well. LOL As far as the hinge, it may work, but I really need to see what you are dealing with. Chances are, you will need to modify it to work, but again, that is based on model years. I know GM used the same hinge from 1995 to 2001, so that shouldn't change if you are within those years.

If you have a chance, get a pic of it and upload it for me to see.

I attached two pics below. The first is from Lumina and the second is from the Lesabre. They appear to be somewhat similar.

Let me know.

Joe

I've gotten in there best as I am able. Here are pictures.
I'd looked at OEM also and the pictures they would show do not look like my hinge at all.

It looks as, if I could get the right side off then I could get to the left side and slide that hood off of there.

Hi,

It is so hard for me to tell for sure. If you want to remove them, have a helper help with the removal of the hood first. Then you will have better access to remove the hinge.

Let me know.
