Batteries will not stay charged, key broke from key fob, the radio says antitheft, black smoke coming out of exhaust pipes. The car was running fine. Catalytic converter was stolen off of it. The car has cranked after being jumped but mind it will shut off.

Hello,

In order for an engine to run, it will need to have spark, fuel and compression. It is also important to have a fictional exhaust system.

Is there currently a catalytic converter installed on the car?
If it does not have one then it could be the reason why the engine is not staying on. Some times lack of back pressure from an exhaust can stall an engine.
