Transmission problem
2000 Honda Prelude 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 145km miles

I just bought a 2000 Honda prelude with 145000km on it. I have had this problem occur 3 times. During normal driving the car will begin to increase the rev's on its own up to either 3000 or 5000 rpm. It is unable to change into gear and sometimes pressing the clutch will increase the rev speed. I have to turn the car off for a few minutes before it returns back to normal idle revolutions. I checked the throttle cable and accelerator and they don't seem to be an issue. I will be getting a computer reading done soon.

Computer readings are for Emmission Controls. I believe you have a bad clutch ! Ck. the fluid in the hydrulic clutch master cylender, near brake fluid master cylender, only it's smaller. Make sure that system is o.k. 1st. If it is, I'm almost certain you need a new clutch assy. , which will consist of trans. R & R .
