i have a 2000 honda prelude that the dash and tail lights will not work. the brake lights work just not the tail lights when the head lights are on, i also noticed there is no annoying warning chime when i have the headlights on and the driver door open. i have tried replacing the light switch at the steering column, checked the fuses in the fuse box on the floorboard and even the fuses under the hood. Im lost as to what the issue could be and need to get it fixed as it makes me unable to drive at night without getting pulled over! Please help..Anybody!!

Hi danboy24,

Get a test lamp and start with the following tests. When testing fuses, probe both ends of fuse to confirm that there is battery voltage.

1. Fuse # 42 ( 20 A, Small light ) Underhood ( at all times )
2. Red/Green wire to light switch (at all times).
3. Red/Black wire from light switch with lights turned ON.
4. Fuse 10, ( 15 A, Taillight ) Underdash.

All above should have battery voltage under described conditions.
