2000 Honda Prelude

I have a dead battery in my car which has sat for over a month. I tried to jump the vehicle and the car alarm kept going off. I could not stop the alarm so I cut the horn out from under the hood. With that being said, I got a new battery and the car does not start. The gauges and lights all flicker. Is this a result of the car locking up because of the alarm?

Hi madatmyself,

Disconnecting the horn does not disarm the alarm system and that would not allow you to start the engine.

You would have to disarm the alarm. With all doors closed, use the key to lock and unlock the the doors or if you have keyless entry, use the remote to disarm it.
