1999 Honda Prelude rough idle

my honda prelude has check engine light on, got it checked and read egr pending and misfire in cylinder 3. It also idles rough almost like a misfire but smoothes out when warm. What could be the problem?

Do you know excatly what the EGR code was? The EGR valve could be partially open and that could act as a vacuum leak and cause a rough idle, as it warms up and expands it could close up that small leak. I would recommend getting the EGR system checked out.

Your cylinder 3 misfire may be related, but most likely not. The first thing I would check is if you need a tune-up. It could be a faulty spark plug, wire, injector, etc.
