1997 Honda Prelude stuck in first

Okay its stuck in first gear, the stick wont go side to side at all, but it will go forward and back farther than it normally would with no resistance at all.

Sounds like a fork or linkage is stuck inside the transmission. You're most likely going to have to remove the transmission and pull the cover off.
