First off the car hesitates to crank up, then the D4 gear light is blinking, next the engine is resistant in idling up when placed into the D4 gear. Also while driving, stopping and going the car makes the noise as if I were placing my foot on the gas while the car in park. I suspect that the car needs power steering fluid, unsure though.

During this is the check engine light on? Is the trans fluid level to the full mark? When was the trans fluid last changed? You say that the engine hesitates to crank, does that mean that it doesn't want to start right off or that it does not turn over the engine right away, ie a battery, cable or starter issue?
