Hey I was wondering if someone on here could help me or give me some advice. I lost my licence and my car has been sitting for the past 6 months or longer. I take it out for a little illegal 2-3 mile joy ride(shhh lol) usually once a month just to run it. But these past 2 months it wont start. When I turn the key all the way, none of the electronics turn on. The battery is fine, my terminals are clean and I checked all my fuses n they look fine. This happened to me once before last year but it was just my battery fuse. The only way I can start the damn thing is by jumping it with another car and even then it struggles to start n takes about 5 or 6 times sometimes more to get it started. And when I mean it struggles to start it struggles. The past few times i've jumped it, it sounds like its just about to die or not start again n it kicks on. Im just about to get my licence back finally and if I cant drive my baby im gunna go insane so please help!

It sounds like the problem may be in the ignition electronics. Here is a link to the wire diagrams for 92-96 Preludes. Locate the schematic for the ignition and use a volt meter to determine if there is voltage at the ignition switch.

Hi prelude94,

If jump starting works, then the battery and its terminals are more likely to be the cause.

I guess you jump start by using the battery positive terminal and engine as ground? If so, check the ground strap at the transmission from the battery terminal. Tends to break strand by strand till very few is left intact.
