When it first started did you try pumping the clutch pedal. If so did it pump up enough for the clutch to work.
Also did you look under the vehicle to see if there was any brake fluid on the ground or any signs of leaking around the Clutch Master or the Clutch Slave Cylinder also check for leaks along the line between the Clutch Master and Slave. And check the Clutch Master to make sure it is full. If it is full it is possible the either your Clutch Master or the Slave has gone bad. And it is a good idea to replace both at same time.
