1992 Honda Prelude rear steel coolant hose leak

Engine Cooling problem
1992 Honda Prelude 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive

There is a small peg on the rear steel hose of the cooling system what is its function? Is it to help with installation so the o rings seat properly? Any tips to help me replace this hose would be appreciated.
