I just got this car from my aunt. I was the last one to drive it about two and a half years ago. Everything worked properly when I parked it. I put a new battery in the other day and the brake lights came on. I wasn't even in the car and the keys were in my pocket. I checked all the fuses. I tried pumping the brakes and the lights still wouldn't turn off. The only way that they would is if I unplug the battery.

check your brake / stop lamp switch, located on the brake pedal bracket. it is either sticking or faulty and need replaced.
