Hello -

To better assist you is your model the EX or LX and what is the engine size in liter and how many miles are on the vehicle?

If you can still drive it, please go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O'Reilly's (OR) and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you don't get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.

If it will not drive then please go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O'Reilly's (OR) and use their tool check out program and get the code scanner. Check your codes, if you find something and you don't get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that.

How long has this been going on - has there been any work done on this that it could be related?

Hi Impallass

I believe the problem is the idle valve or the circuitry to the idle valve. The idle is control by the PCM.
make sure the ground BLK wire from the IAC valve is not lose, the YEL/BLK wire from the the PDM- FI relay has voltage, and finally the BLK/RED wire between the PCM and the IAC has also continuity.
All computer-controlled system require the use of a digital ohmmeter with at leat 10 megohms impedance or damage to the onbord computer could result
you right about the code, because it could be something else. hope it no offense.

hope you can see the diagram
