2003 Honda Pilot How to remove the interior air filter

I have located the interior air filter behind the glove box in my Honda Pilot. I removed the glove box.
However, there is a double bar blocking the way of removing the air filter. I can remove the metal one, but the plastic one is connected to the dash covering. How do you get it out of the way?
