Electrical problem
1977 Honda Pilot 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 3.2 miles

My Husband has this Honda Passport that is aggravating him. I work on my own cars all the time, but they are Fords, not Hondas. I want to assist him in repairing his Honda, but don't want to risk making a mistake and blowing his Honda up! Please, can you help figure this thing out?

2 weeks ago, his radio started behaving erratically, A/C Blower comked out, then his alarm system started behaving irratically as well. First thing I thought was Voltage Regulater.
Last week, as he pulled into the driveway, it conked out. He tried jumping it - no go. He took alternator to autozone, they tested and it was bad. He bought another one and installed it. Car started, took it 5 miles away to the Autozone and it died. He replaced the battery. Drove it home, Voltmeter reads good battery, 14.0 for alternator. Brake Light and Battery light is on, and it is bright. Press on gas and the 2 lights go dim - but still on. The headlights are extra bright!
Unbeknownst to my husband, I was reading your site looking for answers. After he explained everything to me, I looked over and said 'Sounds to me as if you have a charging problem, Dear'
The look on his face was priceless!
I checked the new battery, it is grounded correctly. The alternator belt is tight, he heard the 'click' when he plugged in the alternator and he grounded the alternator properly. We checked every fuse and relay in both fuse boxes. The voltage regulator is inside the alternator - it tested good twice at Autozone.

What part of the charging system is left to check?
Any ideas?

Hi Alternator charging 14.0 v, what about at battery, is it the same?

Apart from that, there is nothing else to check regarding the charging system.

Check the ground at transmission, behind headlights near fender.

Check the pulley, if it has a damper, it could be faulty resulting in slippage, should have some abnornal noise though.
