Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Honda Passport 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have changed the transmission fluid, fuel filter, oil filter, oil, spark plugs and wires and I am still having the same issue. When engaged in driving the vehicle, the car will begin to slowly stop accelerating and eventually lock up and cut off. I can restart it with virtual ease,and the care will proceed to accelerate but minutes later the issue will resurface. What do you think it could be? I have heard a sensor, but really unsure. Please Advise?

Get a scan done to retrieve for trouble codes and let me know what they are if any found.
