A/C Climate Control Noise on acceleration

With the climate control, specifically the A/C, engaged I hear a high pitch noise and feel a vibration on the shifter. The noise become more rapid and high pitch as RPM increases. Any idea what this might be?

I would open the hood with the engine running and check for sounds and try to narrow down where they are coming from. I would look at the A/C compressor and the belt to the same at least as a starting place.
