2003 Honda Odyssey front door lock

the lock on the front door lock is stuck in the locked position with the door open. I tried to pry it with a screwdriver while locking and unlocking the door with no luck. Any suggestions?

Pull the outer or inner handle and try to unlock with the screwdriver.
