I have .059" of thickiness remaining on my front rotors before I reach the minimun of 1.023". I'm going to be traveling about 2600 miles and I'm wondering how fast the rotors wear. Will they last 2600 miles? What is the typical life of OEM rotors?

Also, what is the typical runout of rotors before re-surfacing or replacing? I have one that runs-out about .002". It's not flat, but .002" is not much !
Thank You

Hi there,

The rotors will be fine, the wear rate of the rotor will be determined by the pad compound and brake use, i would not be at all concerned, if you have any doubts about the life of the rotors, i would look at replacing them at the next pad change, and as far as the run out is concerned, that is also not a worry, when you start to feel a vibration in the steering under braking or a pulsation in the brake pedal, that is when run out is becoming a problem.
