2000 Honda Odyssey changed sparkplugs

my car was surging a bit upon acceleration so i changed the sparkplugs double checked all connections when i began to drive the car was making a struggling noise i retraced my steps all over again even bought new sparkplugs plus i made sure the measurement on the gapping was perfect but the car continues to have the same problem and even stalls on release of the break when im trying to park what could the problem be

Did you use platnium spark plugs? Is the check engine light on?
