I own an older crx. I was driving it and am afraid i ran the oil bone dry. as a result my pistons seized up. i tried to manually crank them over but in turn snapped my camshaft. is it possible for me to take clean the pistons individually to get them to work again instead of buying new ones?

Hi light007tear,

It is possible for the pistons to be reused but the con-rod and crankshaft have to checked for damage which might require replacement as the problem is due to lack of lubrications.

After removal of the pistons, visual inspections have to be carried out to determine if they are damaged.
