1988 Honda CRX shifting into gear.?

I can put my car into gear,and let the clutch out and it dosnt engage. but when you put it in each gear it seems alittle loose, i just picked this car up at a towyard.
you can see the plunger in the engine bay move around but.

Hi bst-ink,

I believe the clutch is bad and needs to be replaced.

The loose gearshift is due to worn gear linkage bushes. You need to replace the linkage.
