I just purchased a 2005 CRV and the rear interior light is regularly turning on and off, even after making sure the hatch is tightly closed. The rear hatch open indicator comes on at the same time. It seems to do this when accelerating or hitting bumps. I also noticed it when I closed the front door. The middle interior roof light is burned out, so I do not know if it does the same thing. None of the front overhead lights seem to be behaving this way.

If both driver door and rear hatch door operates the light, then one of it has insufficient contact with the door switch to switch it off firmly. The rear hatch uses the lock to switch off so the driver door should be more likely to cause the problem. It can be due to improper adjustment or worn door hinges or lock.

Sit inside the car and with door closed, push door outwards near switch area and see if light comes on.
