Interior problem 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 48000 miles

I just replaced my condenser fan unit and I must of done something to the hood latch unknowingly during the process as now when I go inside the car to try and release the engine hood latch it will not operate the hood latch and the hood in now shut and I cant open it.

Can you help me open the latch another way so I can try and fix the problem.
Also what do I look for once the hood is finally open ( is there a cable that needs to be fixed or reinstalled that I disturbed?)

Taping on hood while working release does not work. The release seems like it is not hooked to anything inside as it moves very freely so I'm assuming that the cable is not connected to the latch.

Hello,

It sounds like the hood release cable has come undone at the latch. You may need to use a long standard screwdriver and a flashlight to see where the release is on the latch and release it. Have someone push down on the hood while you are doing it to make the latch release easier.

Here is a diagram of the hood latch system so you can see what you are up against.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

You'll have to go through the bumper or grill to access the hood release lever with a long screwdriver, or you can also grab the cable at the latch with pliers and pull it to release the latch.
