P0302 P0303 and P0304 MISFIRE?

Got this code recently.

Changed all spark plugs. Ho my god they are expensive.

Had the codes earased and they came back in no time.

There is many possibilitys to that problem

1. O2 sensor,
2. Fuel pump
3. Fuel filter
4. Cpu problem?

So before investing the kind of money to change all these, is there anyone who had this problem solved or do you have a good idea on it.

Hello,

I have seen the issue before and had to replace the MAP sensor because it causes the engine to run too lean creating the misfire codes. Here is the sensor location and instructions on how to change it out in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Misfires can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.

I got a new sensor for $78.00 at AutoZone had it installed in 20 minutes then cleared the codes they never came back, car runs great.

New plugs, coils, o2 sensor, been to dealer no help light flashes and engine runs rough at idle, runs fine at highway speed any help?

You got misfires big time-check the engine compression,

Misfiring can be cause by the following:

1. Defective spark plug
2. Inadequate spark/coil, defective spark plug wire.
3. Lack of compression
4. False air leakage.
5. Faulty fuel injectors.
6. Insufficient fuel pressure.
7. Contaminated fuel.
8. EGR valve that is leaking.
9. Oxygen sensors.
10. Throttle position sensor.
11. Manifold absolute pressure sensor

Any ideas on what's up with my engine? At first the only code was P0301. When the vehicle is on an incline, with the front higher than the rear, and the engine is cool, it will run kinda rough as if almost shutting off.

The code originally was a cylinder 1 misfire.

After two days the code went to cylinder 1 misfire, cylinder 4 misfire, random misfire, and O2( the chilton book says fuel/air ratio) sensor no activity.

My mechanic originally said the #1 coil pack was bad but now I don't know. Please help me!

Hi rayminater,

Thank you for the donation.

The misfirings are all related and I would suspect the cause to be the O2 sensor.
A diganostic test is recommended to check the O2 sensor readings when in operation.

Check for vacumn leakages first.

I have done a complete tune up spark plugs, wires, cap rotor. Car still runing like crap. The code po1399 looks like it could be a couple different things timing? Some kind of sensor? If anyone can help I would appreciated any help. Dont want to have to pull engine apart to change timing chain if I dont have too

There is no code p01399 but there is a p0139 which is slow response on an O2 sensor but may be caused by the random misfires. Check fuel pressure for being low and then have apro check this as random misfires are very hard to diagnose. They can freeze data and look at certain things to see if another sensor is causing this. Of course it could be an internal problem as well.

2001 Honda CRV 4 cyl Automatic 76607 miles

My check engine light came on about a 2 months ago for 2 wks, then turned off. I thought it was a glitch then about 4 days ago it came on again. Today, someone was able to tell me which codes were listed, but I don't know what they mean. Can you help me figure out what each code [p0300, p0301, p0302, p0303, p0304, p1399] stands for, please?
Financially times are tough, but I need to know what is going on so I can figure how to fix/maintain my vehicle without emptying my wallet.

Dunno about the cost it varies with locations-The P1399 applies to the Exhaust Gas Recirculating Valve ( EGR ) might want to check this out 1st

What was the problem. I seem to have the exact same problem.

So before changing my o2 sensor or have the injectors cleaned up. I asking you what was the trouble on your car.

It ended up being my one of my engine cylinders that had zero compression. Stopped working. Had honda dealership fix it, they did it quickly and knew exactly what to look for. They said reason was my particular model and year needs to be adjusted by dealership b/c it's a fine range (or something like that). Good luck. I hope ur has not gotten as bad as mine. I had to have my engine taken out and rebuilt, cost about $1400.

Changed both cam sensors, car will idle for about 10 seconds then cut out. The car also revs up and cut out.
