The passenger side mirror in my Honda CRV is all loose for no apparent reason. It swings back and forward. The mirror has not been hit as far as I know and the control to move the orientation of the mirror in the driver's side door still works. Is this something that could be fix at home with conventional tools or should I take it to the car repair place? Hi ginodeluca,

Most probably you need to replace the unit, I don't believe any mechanic would be willing to try to repair it for you.

The spring mechanism has either broken or detached itself.
