evap system was designed to reduce emissions.
leak in the system usually means that the gas cap was loose. did you have the vehicle scanned? sometimes the problem could be in the canister area which tends to get more expensive.
if it was just a loose gas cap and you did not clear the light,it should go away by itself in about 3 weeks after you tighten the gas cap.
