Engine Cooling problem
2002 Honda CRV 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
The vehicle was over heating and I noticed the radiator and condensor fans were not working.
Checked Fuse and relays - OK
Showed it to a mechanic and seems like both the motors had blown up as the radiator was leaking and the water blew up the motors. He replaced both the motors and a new radiator.

I dont know if the heating problem was fixed but the indicator still seems to indicate abnormal variations with sometimes hot and sometimes cold. Freeway its cold the moment I hit traffic it starts heating up again.

Now he is asking me to replace the thermostat ? Do the problems seem to indicate a thermostat problem ?

Hi there,

I would of expected the thermostat to of been changed with the radiator, so get it done now, i would also want to check that the fans are turning on at the correct temp as well, have your mechanic inspect this, it should of been done with the radiator job , but ask anyway.

Don't forget to remind the mechanic to do a proper bleeding of the system, it can cause what you described too.
