Hi babygirlm12,

The sweet smell is an indication some coolant has spilled/leaked out. Sometimes leaks are minimal and not easily noticeable. You would have to perform a visual check, coolant stains usually would have signs of oxidation arould it, and pressure test to confirm if there are any leakages.

When engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and check the coolant level. If it is low, top it up. Run engine with heater turned to maximum with radiator cap off and top up coolant if necessary. Check the reserve tank coolant level as well.

Check the radiator cap seals, if bad, replace cap.

When engine is running, turn AC on and check if the cooling fans works.
