I have a 98 Honda Civic Hatchback with 99000 miles on it. My problem is the car cranks but doesn't start. It only starts when I add starting fluid so l figuerd it was a gas problem. So I check the fuel Pump and I also checked if the fuel rail was building fuel pressure which it was, so l decided to pull out the fuel injectors and cranck the motor at the same time, of course with a help of a friend, and l noticed that the injectors were not injecting fuel. I also switch ecu's in case if the original ecu was not working properly but even with a different ecu the injectors are not working. What could be the problem?

Check where the injector/s are getting there power and also is the computer receiving a crank signal from the ignition system-if it doesn't the computer will not energize the injector/s-it doesn't even know whether the engne is turning to feed it with fuel.

Do you know where the 1998 Honda Civic Injector/s power source is located?

The black and yellow wire at the injector/s are the power and the other colors the computer grounds it to complete the circuit.

There's a junction connector in the middle of the engine is should have the blk/yel wire on it.

Have you been able to find the problem yet? IM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ON MY 99 DX.
Thought fuel filter, same changed. Good fuel pressure coming into injector rail, still won't fire. Spray starting fluid at the intake or manually fed 12v power to injector coils one by one would start the engine and stopped when fuel is burnt. I AM SUSPECTING IT COULD BE THE DISTRIBUTOR.

I have been able to fix the problem, found blk/yellow wire in bundle (wire harness) just below temperature switch plug, burnt open. This wire is a common positive feed to all the 4 injectors. Same was rubbing on top of the starter. I was lucky to have been able to notice the burnt wire because there were flashed over marks on the starter housing and found it with a mirror put underneath the wire bundle. Found the steel bracket which hold the wire bundle bent down which caused the insulation/electric tape to wear out. I was very lucky to find this, otherwise I would change the DISTRIBUTOR and THE ECM, and the problem would still exist.
