I recently replaced my clutch assembly of my HONDA CIVIC VTI car with manual transmission. While driving in heavy traffic where frequent shifting of Ist to 2nd and vice versa is required, I have obserbved following fault. Whenever I shift to Ist gear and press gas pedal slowly releasing clutch, the engine make very abnormal sound and car resist to move forward for few seconds. But after few seconds the car moves with heavy sound. Then same thing happens when I further shift the gear to 2nd and 3rd. This problem is not noticed when Iam driving on traffic free road where there is no frequent changing of gear is required.

i guess my question is did you do the work or did someone else? i ask this because i wonder if you did everything correctly. For instance, did you use the centering tool, did you replace the pilot bearing, and the throwout bearing? Any sound coming from that area would be related to the tranny and clutch. i would sure hate to see you have to tear it apart again.

i also take it that the noise you hear goes away even at the slower speeds? Can you describe the noise better?

The clutch was replaced by a experienced mechanic. This problem is only there when there is frequent shifting of gear from 1st to 2nd otherwise there is no problem
