city/highway mpg was 30+ and over time has decreased to 25 mpg . we use chevron gas and do the oil changes + filter and air filter.

there is a slight hesitation on the stop and start

situation like at a stop sign.

when should the valves be adjusted? there is no noise in the top end.

check to make sure the brakes are not slow to release.
If they are dragging for a few seconds after letting off the pedal, it will make your MPG drop.
