Hello,

Recently I took my Honda in to get a routine oil change and I asked them to generally check out the car and let me know if anything was wrong that I would need to worry about. I did this since my car still has a Honda Care Warranty on it and I'd rather catch this first than the warranty running out and then finding it. Overall, I was told at the end of the day that the valves were loud so they were adjusted to normal specs. After I left and told others, they are outraged since they said that adjusting of valves should only occur in engines with more miles (~200,000+)? Any suggestions? I can't find any proof online in regards to when to adjust the valves.

Thank you

Hi jradillo,

Valve adjustments are recommende to be checked every 20 k miles and adjusted as and when necessary.

Where did the information that valves should be adjusted only for engines with more than 200 k miles come from?
