need to locate heater oxygen sensor on a 1.7 engine

You have two on this vehicle.
Did you recieve a code? Is that why you are looking for it?
There is your primary sensor (before the catalytic convertor) that is located either in your exhaust manifold(at the front of the engine, right infront of the radiator/condenser fans). If it is not there, it is underneath the vehicle, before the catalytic convertor. That is if your code was P0135....O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
If your code was P0141....O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2) for your secondary o2 after the catalytic convertor. You will find this underneath the vehicle pretty much right beneath the shifter/arm rest area in the exhaust.
