For the past several weeks, the gas mileage is getting worse and worse. Oil changes have been done every 3,000 miles, air filter is clean, tires are only 5,000 miles old and properly inflated.
Went 75 miles around town today and some highway and have already used a third of a tank. This car used to get as much as 40-42 MPG, now it is just awful.
Any ideas?

Plug gap is a big place to start. Regap or replace. Also, has your weather turned colder? The colder weather can really play hell with mileage. Air filter is new or you looked at it. It can look clean to you and the light test is not that dependable. Might look at replacing it as well.
